Show Team Shane Ellison Born in Monroe, Michigan and raised in the farm country of Monroe County, Shane Ellison grew up in a family of hunters. Shane spent a good part of his childhood with his family in the northern woods of Michigan, deer hunting each fall. He was given his first bow at age 10 and has been hooked ever since. He spent his teenage years trapping and hunting as much as he could, spent every summer shooting 3-D tournaments, and shooting everyday. By age 16, he was addicted to the sport. Shane attended college in Marquette, Michigan while raising two boys with his wife, Rachael. All the while working full-time and hunting every available moment of the fall. After graduating with a Bachelors of Science in Accounting, he was hired by La-Z-Boy Chair Company as a tax analyst. But Shane wanted to move to an area where he could indulge his passion for the outdoors so he moved to Niagara, Wisconsin in 1996, joining a regional accounting firm in Iron Mountain, Michigan. In 1999, after passing the CPA exam, Shane made partner of his firm at age 30, the youngest person there ever to do so. Since then, the firm has grown to be one of the largest in several specialty areas in the State of Michigan. In the past six years, Shane also started and sold another successful area business. Once having moved to Wisconsin, Shane traveled all over the United States and Canada hunting big game. His passion for hunting and the outdoors has given him the ability spend time with his youngest son, Trevor and to teach him all about the sport. Since the age of six, Trevor has been taking in all the adventure of being in the outdoors and is now Shane's number one hunting companion, having hunted with him in several states and Canada. To Shane, hunting is more than just harvesting animals; it is about the memories and sharing the experience with friends and family. Shane believes in giving back to others and sharing his gifts in many ways. He has worked with teenagers in his local church through bible study and participated in mission trips to work with the homeless. Also important is spending time with those who have an interest in the outdoors; Shane places a lot of emphasis on teaching to those who have not been introduced to the outdoors, including the next generation. Shane's philosophy is that success is measured by the relationships that are formed, whether that is with friends, family or other businesspeople. He knows the sacrifice and dedication it takes to run a business and what it means to give back so that everyone benefits. "Life is measured by what you have given, not what has been received." Show Team Trevor Ellison Trevor was born in Marquette, Michigan and has spent his whole life in the northern parts of Michigan and Wisconsin. Trevor has been in the woods with his dad, Shane, since he was able to walk. His first time in a treestand was with his dad at age 6 and his feet have never hit the ground since. Trevor spends countless hours perched in a treestand, whether that would be in the woods around his home or somewhere in the Midwest. Trevor harvested his first whitetail with his bow in Wisconsin and his first mature whitetail with a rifle in Saskatchewan, Canada, all at the age of 12. Since then Trevor spends many hours with his dad on the road traveling throughout the Midwest chasing mature whitetails. Since age 12, he has become an avid archery hunter and has harvested several mature whitetails and wild turkeys throughout the Midwest. He lives and breathes hunting 365 days a year. Trevor can be found shooting his bow either indoors at archery leagues or in is back yard almost anytime of the year. If he isn't shooting his bow, he's scouting the woods for signs of mature bucks and strategically planning his stand placements for the next fall. Trevor travels and hunts throughout the U.S. with his dad and the television show. He has harvested several deer on film and has filmed several kills for other hunters and team members. Trevor prides himself on getting youth involved with this great sport of hunting. He had introduced the sport of bowhunting to his best friend last summer and filmed him shooting his first whitetail buck with his bow last fall. Trevor is an example of what happens when a youth gets introduced to the outdoors and is taught what this sport is all about and the importance of passing that on to future generations. Trevor demonstrates by his life and his actions what it means to represent this sport at the highest level. At the age of 17, Trevor has become a very important part of Livin' The Hunt and brings a lot of experience and perspective to the show that almost anyone can identify with. Show Team |
Show Team Cody Worley Cody Worley was born just outside of Gainesville in a small town called Hawthorne, Florida. The majority of his family members are avid hunters so he grew up around it as a child. As far back as he can remember he always had a sling shot or BB gun in his hands. As he got older it moved from a 20 gauge to a 12 gauge, .308, and then to a .270. Cody started hunting squirrels when he was young and moved his way up to bigger game such as whitetail, turkeys and hogs. There is something about the outdoors that just hooked him from the beginning. It was never about harvesting anything... some of his favorite memories are riding though the hunt club with his dad, brother, or friends, even out of the hunting season, just enjoying the experience. As he grew up, he became more and more of an avid hunter, starting with rifle hunting and then picking up a bow to increase the challenge. Cody harvested his first deer at fourteen years old and that is when hunting moved from a pastime to a passion. Throughout high school, Cody took many television production classes and started taking a camera out to capture friends and family's hunting experiences on video. Around this time he realized that he wanted to pursue a career focusing on film and video. Cody attended college at Full Sail University in Orlando, Florida where he received a degree in Film and Video Production. After graduation, he did some free lance jobs but it wasn't until he had the opportunity to work for Mossy Oak that he realized that his childhood dream had come true. During the five years at Mossy Oak, Cody had spent on average over 180 days on the road per year filming for Mossy Oak and spending countless hours in the woods behind the camera. During the five years with Mossy Oak, Cody and other videographers had produced film for six television shows, Hunting the Country, Step Outside, Obsession Revealed, Full Frame, Mossy Oak Classics and American Hunter, for a total of 91 episodes per year. Cody understands that outdoor television has gone from two guys hunting to family entertainment. Because outdoor television is all about family entertainment he knows that a show needs more of a film look, and his background gives him that creative advantage. Cody has produced enough outdoor TV shows over the past five years to have seen his work edited that he knows what a show needs from a filming perspective. Cody's background in film school and outdoor television has given him an eye for quality film which will set Livin' The Hunt apart from other shows. Show Team |
